Use the Steelpan + Stand icon when the percussion instrument has to be unambiguous on the page. It sets a realistic mic count for a position that is almost never generic, and nobody reading the plot has to guess what the shape is meant to be.
Drag it onto the canvas, resize it, rename the label, and it lands in the exported PDF exactly where you left it.
Where it sits on the deck changes how the rest of the plot reads. Percussion sits stage right or stage left of the kit, close enough to lock in with the drummer and far enough away to keep mic bleed manageable. Snap the icon to the grid and the distances stay believable on a printed page.
Say this part explicitly. Percussion rigs need more stands than anyone expects. Count short booms straight off the drawing before the truck is packed.
Steelpan + Stand produces one channel on the input list, defaulting to a Dynamic input, a short boom stand and phantom power off. It sorts at position 2 in the drums first, vocals last channel order that front of house engineers expect. Change any of it per plot; the default just means you rarely have to.
Channel names travel with the plot. Export a scene file for an X32, M32, or Wing, or a channel name CSV for dLive, Avantis, SQ, DiGiCo, and Yamaha CL and QL. See the console guides.
