Where it sits on the deck changes how the rest of the plot reads. Performer figures sit on the downstage line for front of band positions and further upstage for the rhythm section, spaced the way the band actually works. Snap the icon to the grid and the distances stay believable on a printed page.
Say this part explicitly. Match figure count to the contracted band size. A plot that shows eight people against a booking for six starts a conversation nobody wants on show day.
