vs StageBuilder Pro
Stageplot Pro vs StageBuilder Pro for 3D Stage Plots
A comparison of Stageplot Pro and StageBuilder Pro, covering 3D and 2D views, AI assisted building, free plan limits, pricing, and PDF export for bands.
The short version
StageBuilder Pro is a browser based stage plot tool with a genuine 3D view alongside the usual 2D overhead plan, plus an AI assistant that places gear on the stage from a plain English description. Stageplot Pro is also browser based and free during early access, built around an input list and monitor mixes that generate themselves from your layout.
Editor and free plan
StageBuilder Pro's free tier includes one cloud saved stage plot, PDF export, and full access to both the 3D and 2D views, with more than 250 production items spread across audio, lighting, video, staging, and instrument categories. The 3D view is a genuinely different way to communicate a setup, useful when you are pitching a production to someone who has never read a stage plot before. Stageplot Pro's editor covers 297 equipment icons in a 2D layout and, during early access, does not limit how many plots you save.
AI building and automation
StageBuilder Pro's standout feature is its AI Builder: describe your setup in plain English and it places the matching items on the stage automatically, available on paid tiers. Stageplot Pro takes automation from the layout itself rather than a text prompt: place a mic, amp, or DI on the plot and it appears in the input list right away, with channel numbers and mic types filled in, and monitor mixes get their own view tied to each musician's position.
Pricing
StageBuilder Pro's Pro tier runs $5 a month for unlimited cloud saves and the AI Build Assistant, Elite runs $10 a month and adds live multi user collaboration and a venue database, and a $250 lifetime option is also available. The free tier's one saved plot will be limiting once you are managing more than a single show. Stageplot Pro has not announced pricing. Every feature, including PDF export and unlimited saved plots, is unlocked for free during early access.
Export and sharing
StageBuilder Pro exports an overhead plan, a printer friendly tech view, the 3D perspective, a full I/O list, and an itemized bill of materials you can export to CSV, a genuinely deep export set. Stageplot Pro exports a two page PDF, stage plot and input list, with your band logo and accent color, plus a shareable link your engineer can open with no login.
Choosing what fits
If you want a 3D view for pitching a production and an AI assistant that builds a first draft from a description, StageBuilder Pro's paid tiers deliver real, distinct value. If you want a fast 2D plot with an input list and monitor mixes that build themselves as you work, with no per project cap while it is free, try the editor and compare the results.
Start from a real layout instead of a blank stage. The indie rock four piece and electronic live duo templates are close starting points for smaller modern setups, and how to make a stage plot covers what belongs on the page regardless of which tool you use.
