Use the Lap Steel Gtr icon when the guitar has to be unambiguous on the page. It marks a player position and the signal path that comes with it, and nobody reading the plot has to guess what the shape is meant to be.
Drag it onto the canvas, resize it, rename the label, and it lands in the exported PDF exactly where you left it.
Where it sits on the deck changes how the rest of the plot reads. Guitar positions sit downstage of the backline they use, angled in toward the drummer so the player can hold time by eye as well as by ear. Snap the icon to the grid and the distances stay believable on a printed page.
Say this part explicitly. State whether guitars run through amps or straight to a DI. That single line decides roughly half the channel list.
Lap Steel Gtr produces one channel on the input list, defaulting to a Dynamic input, a boom stand and phantom power off. It sorts at position 4 in the drums first, vocals last channel order that front of house engineers expect. Change any of it per plot; the default just means you rarely have to.
